This year's two lockdowns have changed for the better many people's perspectives on nature and nature reserves, as illustrated by this recent article from the Watford Observer.

Covid-19 restrictions unfortunately led to cancellaton of this year's public Butterfly and Dragonfly Walk (amongst others) but FoSL members, father and son Rob and Alex Liddle, agreed to report back on a private walk around the lake. You can read their report here or else download an illustrated version from here.

In common with so many other public events, our wildflower walk around the lake which had been scheduled for June 21st unfortunately had to be cancelled due to Covid-19. However on July 1st Janet Lowndes and Linda Ascroft walked around the lake and listed the various wildflowers they identified.

Good news - the lovely Dexter cattle which we had on the reserve last summer are due back in early June. They do great conservation work by encouraging growth of wildflowers in the three meadows which we created for them especially. So we await their return with eagerness.
