A family party of Goldeneye has been spotted several times over the last few days at SPRINGWELL LAKE (adjacent to Stocker's Lake). Goldeneye primarily breed on Scottish lochs and there have only ever been a handful of UK records of Goldeneye breeding away from Northern England and Scotland.

A female with ducklings was first seen on May 15th when there were 7 small ducklings. However on the 17th three ducklings were observed being taken by pike and at time of writing (May 18th) it is believed that just the 4 remain.
