Anna Marret and I spent our afternoon on the canal side of the reserve armed with Anna’s telescope trained on the heron and egret nests on the islands on the opposite side of the lake.

It was a nice day for walking. So plenty of people were interested in looking at the nests.  Many were surprised that there were egrets as well as herons.
We will have probably recruited a few new members.

A bonus was a Cetti’s warbler which was very active in the bulrushes and reeds in front of us.
